Coating Systems

The drying of coatings using fluidized bed ovens is the perfect method for achieving a highly efficient heat and mass exchange of the swirled product. This applies particularly to pan-coated and granulated products of the food, feed, tobacco and pharmaceutical industries. The time-reduced drying in fluidized bed ovens has also become accepted for the drying of pellets and drying procedures of plastics processing.

The usual drying process is thus considerably reduced and carried out with absolutely uniform and efficient product drying. With fluidized bed oven technology, conduction, convection and radiation are performed in one systematic drying process.

Using fluid bed technology for the drying of coatings ensures that the automated supply air temperature keeps the drying in thermodynamic balance and vaporizes only as much moisture

Apart from that, the supply air temperature is controlled in such a way that the dry material capillaries do not close from the outside. Compared to the clearly longer process times of diffusion drying, this process offers the advantage of high efficiency. The advantages apply to continuous fluid bed drying and the drying of batches. Particularly with process variants such as spray granulation, spray agglomeration and spray coating, moisture evaporation occurs as early as during the entire spraying process. Liquid bridges, clumping or porous granulate and coating structures will not occur with GEMMER Custom-Fit® Drying Systems.
